Product Description
Product Description
Two Part RTV Condensation Cure Type
Mold Making Silicone Rubber
Description:
RTV-312 is two component RTV condensation cure type silicone rubber compounds for mold making. The two component system consists of a base (Part A) and curing agent/catalyst (Part B).
Applications:
Recommended for the mold making of non-complex patterns with fine details, as well as dimensional stability and non-deformation is required.
It is suitable for the reproduction of shoe sole molds, and general molding of plan surfaces.
Features and Benefits:
Low viscosity; Good flowability; Easy de-gassing; Easy de-molding; Low shrinkage; Good dimensional stability; High duplication times; Cost effective; Reproduce fine details.
How to use
1. Preparation:
The surface of the original should be clean and free of loose material. If necessary, and in particular with porous substrates, use a suitable release agent such as petroleum jelly or soap solution.
2. Weighting:
Thoroughly stir the bases before using. Weigh out a certain amount of base compound and add the appropriate catalyst into a clean plastic or metal container. Note that the weight of the bases and catalyst must be weighed accurately.
3. Mixing:
Mix thoroughly. Fully stir until the catalyst is completely dispersed in the base, using the color contrast to achieve homogeneity. Hand or mechanical mixing can be used.
4. De-gassing:
Stop the mixer and scrape the vessel walls a few times. To prevent imperfections due to bubbles in the cured rubber, it is strongly recommended to eliminate any entrapped air by using intermittent evacuation in a vacuum chamber for a few minutes, allowing the mix to completely expand and then collapse.
5. Pouring and Curing:
If the mix be inspected and free of air bubbles, pour the mixed base and catalyst as soon as possible onto the original, avoiding air entrapment. The catalyzed material will cure to a firm, flexible rubber.
6. Mold Performance & Storage:
The physical life of the mold depends on how you use it (working temperature, materials cast, frequency, etc. ).
Molds should be stored on a level surface in a cool, dry environment. And before storing, the mold should be cleaned with a soap solution and wiped fully dry. Two part (or more) molds should be assembled.
Packaging
Part A: Silicone Rubber base is supplied in 25kg/pail.
Part B: Curing Agent/Catalyst is supplied in 0.75kg/plastic bottle.
Arrangements can be made to supply in other pack sizes.
Storage, Shelf Life and Shipping
1. Store in original, unopened containers below 30 ° C. Keep them in a dry, cool, dark location. This product has a usable life of 6 months from the date of production.
2. The curing agent may denature after opening. Keep all catalyst containers tightly sealed when not in use. Take particular care under conditions of high temperature or humidity.
3. These products have a limited shelf life and should be used as soon as possible.
4. The products are non-dangerous goods, and can be transported as common chemicals.
