Silicon Nitride Ceramic:
The normal-pressure sintered silicon nitride is prepared by mixing a high-purity, ultra-fine, high-α content silicon nitride powder with a small amount of a sintering aid, and forming it by a process such as forming and sintering. During the sintering process, the α phase dissolves into the liquid phase, and then precipitates on the β-Si3N4 nucleus to become β-Si3N4, which is advantageous for the sintering process. Nitrogen must be introduced during sintering to suppress the pyrolysis of Si3N4. At normal pressure sintering, a ceramic having a complicated shape and excellent performance can be obtained, and the disadvantage is that the sintering shrinkage rate is large, generally 16% to 26%, which easily causes cracking and deformation of the product. The reaction-sintered Si3N4 sintered compact is placed in a silicon nitride powder in the presence of a sintering aid, and is re-sintered at a high temperature to obtain a dense Si3N4 product. The sintering aid can be introduced during the ball milling of the silicon powder, or can be impregnated by the impregnation method after the reaction sintering. Since the process can be pre-processed during the reaction sintering process, the shrinkage during the re-sintering process is only 6% to 10%, so that a component having a complicated shape and excellent performance can be prepared.
