The GDMDGM is a radio modem with GMSK modulation scheme and supports 8000 to 19200bps over the air rate. Operating in VHF or UHF bands, the data radio transceiver is one of the most versatile and fast radio modems. 

The error rate is minimized by means of Forward Error Correction (FEC) . Data packets are split in several blocks before transmission and adds correction information inside the blocks. It can effectively overcome the interference that may be encountered in harsh environments, enhancing the capability of the modem to resist noise and other interference.
