At present, the biggest development area of PCD tools is high-hard cutting—finishing of automotive engine alloy steel parts such as gears, shafts and bearings with Rockwell hardness of 60-65HRC. Such parts can only be made by grinding. Moreover, the dimensional tolerances of the parts are very small and the surface roughness is very fine. And high-hard cutting makes this same result on a CNC lathe, and the maintenance cost of the lathe is also lower.
It is particularly suitable to engrave granite and ceramic. Its maximum engraving depth can reach 1mm. The flat bottom knife is used to engrave characters with smooth edges. The size of the engraving characters ranges from 3cm to 8cm. The knife features fast engraving speed and long service life. Its maximum engraving depth can reach 4mm.
