Introduction About 5 Axis CNC Machining Service

5 Axis CNC Milling is a type of CNC machining service, which is suitable for manufacturing CNC milled parts with high precision in prototype and low or large volume runs. Today 5 Axis CNC Milling is the most advanced technology and efficient processing method. CNC milling (also called vertical machining) relies on rotating tools to remove unwanted material from the workpiece. Vertical machining is performed on a vertical machining center (VMC), which uses a spindle with a vertical direction.

What Is CNC Milling and Turning?

Both CNC milling and turning begin with a CAD model created, then it will be converted into a CNC program and finally inputted into the designated CNC machine. Once the digital work is complete, CNC milling and turning operations can be carried out with minimal interference from operators.

In CNC milling, the automated mill can perform multiple operations along 4 or 5 axes to cut parts according to the programmed dimensions. Similarly, a CNC turning machine programs single-point and live cutting tools to conduct multi-operations. When the tool creates a surface cut with precise specifications, the workpiece rotates at a varying speed.
