SMD(Surface Mounted Device) is a method for constructing electronic circuits in which the light chips are mounted directly onto the surface of printed circuit boards. Each SMD pixel consists of red, green, and blue diodes mounted on a chipset, which is then mounted on the driver PC board. The diodes are very small and are set very close together.
